Ver•ve™ Look: Neurotoxin Pittsburgh, PA

Smooth Expression | Natural Movement

Botox at The Pittsburgh Center for Plastic Surgery

Ver•ve Look is our approach to wrinkle-relaxing injections—often called “tox.” The goal is not a frozen face. The goal is a calmer, more rested expression that still moves naturally. We treat strategically, dose thoughtfully, and map injection patterns to your anatomy and the way you emote.

Hit Snooze on Wrinkles

What is Botox?

A purified protein derived from botulinum toxin, Botox is a brand of Neuromodulators approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to temporarily block nerve signals to the muscles that cause movement.

Neuromodulators are purified proteins that temporarily relax targeted facial muscles. When we reduce the pull of specific muscles, the overlying skin creases less, softening lines and helping prevent deeper etching over time. Treatment is highly technique-dependent: placement, dose, depth, and symmetry matter more than the name on the vial.

When injected by a qualified professional into specific areas of the face—usually the forehead, outer corners of the eyes, between the eyes, and around the mouth—it can minimize the appearance of wrinkles and lines and discourage new ones from developing.

Built Around You - Not a Brand

Which Tox is Right for Me?

We plan treatment brand-agnostically—choosing the product that best matches your goals, metabolism, and scheduling needs. At PCPS, we commonly use Botox® Cosmetic, Dysport®, Jeuveau®, and Daxxify®.

Quick Comparison: Botox vs Dysport vs Jeuveau vs Daxxify

All four products aim to relax muscle activity. Differences are usually about onset, diffusion characteristics, and how long the effect may last. Individual response varies, so we refine over time based on how your results settle and how they wear off.

Product Typical onset Full effect Typical duration Common fit Generic name (SEO)
Botox® Cosmetic 5–7 days 10–14 days ~3–4 months Classic option OnabotulinumtoxinA
Dysport® 3–5 days 7–14 days ~3–4 months Often helpful for broader areas in some patients AbobotulinumtoxinA
Jeuveau® 5–7 days 10–14 days ~3–4 months High-Control; Aesthetic focused PrabotulinumtoxinA-xvfs
Daxxify® 2–4 days 7–14 days Often ~4–6+ months; can be longer Longer interval between visits for many DaxibotulinumtoxinA-lanm

At the Intersection of Beauty & Science

Your Botox Experience

We are here to help you with all your needs, whether you are new to Botox or want to restart your regimen. For stunning, long-lasting results, our medical professionals can assist you in determining the optimal areas to focus your treatment. We are eager to work with you to achieve your ideal results.

Before you receive Botox Cosmetic, you will meet with your injector to determine your candidacy and discuss your goals. To ensure the safety and effectiveness of treatment, you should receive Botox only from a qualified provider. To learn more about how Botox can renew your appearance and refresh your look, schedule an appointment with us today.

There is an array of benefits to receiving Botox treatment*:

  • It can help you achieve a more youthful appearance while avoiding surgery.
  • Botox can be strategically combined with fillers offered in our Ver•ve Contour and Ver•ve Regen lines for optimal facial rejuvenation.
  • Patients who treat wrinkles between their eyes can alter their expression from one of constant anger or concern to relaxation and contentment.
  • Botox is quick and easy, with no recovery time required.

In general, the best candidates are men and women at least 18 years old, who are in good overall health and have no history of neuromuscular disease. You should not receive Botox Cosmetic if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a neurological disease. Make sure to discuss your full medical history with your injector during your consultation.

Candidates should have moderate to pronounced facial wrinkles in the areas where Botox is administered and also have realistic expectations about their results. We typically recommend treatment with Botox for patients with:

  • Frown lines between their eyebrows
  • Crow’s feet
  • Horizontal brow furrows
  • Lines around their nose

Your medical provider will explain the degree of improvement that you can expect and address any questions you have. If we do not think that Botox will help you achieve your goals, we may recommend additional or alternative cosmetic treatments.

What Tox Can Do

Should I Get Tox?

Ver•ve Look is most commonly used for:

  • Frown lines (“11s”) between the eyebrows
  • Forehead lines (horizontal creases)
  • Crow’s feet (outer eye lines)
  • Brow balance and subtle lift (in the right anatomy)
  • Select lower-face tension patterns (case-by-case)

Most healthy adults are good candidates. We’ll review pregnancy/nursing status, any neuromuscular disorders, active infection, and medications that may increase bruising. If your primary concern is volume loss or deeper static folds, we may discuss pairing neuromodulators with fillers or skin-quality treatments in a staged plan.

What to Expect

What does Ver•ve Look Like?

Your visit starts with a movement assessment: how you animate, which muscles dominate, and what you want your expression to communicate. We’ll map injection points, discuss product options, and build a plan that fits your calendar. If you’re new to neuromodulators, we typically start conservatively and refine at follow-up rather than chasing maximal effect on day one.

The Procedure, Step by Step

  • Review goals and facial movement patterns
  • Cleanse the skin; optional marking for anatomy
  • Micro-injections placed with a fine needle in planned zones
  • Quick check-out and aftercare review

Results & Timing

Most patients notice a gradual softening over several days. Full results are typically assessed no sooner than 10–14 days, when the muscles have stabilized. The best outcome is balance—softened lines with preserved expression. If a small adjustment is needed, this window is where we fine-tune.

Ver•ve Look: Neuromodulator Results

Most patients notice a gradual softening over several days. Full results are typically assessed no sooner than 10–14 days, when the muscles have stabilized. The best outcome is balance—softened lines with preserved expression. If a small adjustment is needed, after this window is where we fine-tune.

Temporary redness, swelling, or small bruises can occur. Rarely, eyelid droop or brow heaviness can happen—this is uncommon and typically temporary, and the risk is reduced with precise dosing, correct depth, and good aftercare. We discuss realistic risks clearly and treat with restraint to avoid an overdone look.

Maximizing Your Results

Botox Recovery and Aftercare

There are a few steps you can take after your Botox treatment to get the most out of your injections:

Aftercare (Simple Rules)

  • Stay upright for ~4 hours after treatment.
  • Avoid rubbing or pressing on treated areas the rest of the day.
  • Skip strenuous exercise, saunas/steam, and facials for ~24 hours - these can wash away the tox
  • Makeup is fine the same day if applied gently.

Results will vary from patient to patient. One of the best ways to prolong the effects of your tox treatment is to receive regular treatments.
